The River at Blackwolf Run offers of one of only 24 courses in the nation to received a Golf Digest's highest rating with a five stars rating. The River is one of the most challenging and scenic destinations in North America. It considered as one of the finest public access course of modern times in the nation. The History of Blackwolf started in June 1988. In that year, it was recognized as the Best New Public course by Golf Digest magazine. It continued to accumulate awards and honors including the regular ranking on the list of America's 100 Greatest Golf courses by Golf digest and the Top 100 You Can Play by golf Magazine. Blackwolf Run features two courses which have hosted the U.S. Women's Open and the world Championship of Golf.
