In 1967, Scherwood Golf Course opened its doors and quickly became one of the most popular courses in Northwest Indiana. Scherwood is a semi-private golf club that offers large men's and ladies' organizations, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for golfers. Located in downtown Schererville, Indiana, the course occupies 165 acres of picturesque land.
Scherwood Golf Course boasts a 27-hole layout, consisting of an 18-hole, par 71 Regulation Course that spans 6,900 yards, as well as a separate Executive Course. Both the Regulation and Executive courses feature bluegrass fairways and large Penn Cross bent grass greens, providing excellent playing conditions for golfers of all skill levels.
The course's design is generally flat, with elevated greens and water hazards coming into play on most holes. This layout challenges golfers to carefully strategize their shots and navigate the course with precision and finesse. Scherwood's signature hole, the par-5 8th, demands accuracy off the tee and a well-planned approach to avoid the water hazard guarding the green.
